Beijing (July 27, 2021) – Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.， Nissan （China）Investment Co., Ltd. and its joint venture in China - Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. (DFL) have pledged a total of 31.1 million RMB in emergency aid to Henan Province (especially Zhengzhou area) to support their flood relief and recovery efforts.

The pledge includes 21.1 million RMB, including donation made to Red Cross Society of China Zhengzhou and rescue vehicles and equipment provided to support local governments and businesses in their disaster relief and recovery work. Dongfeng Nissan has committed the other 10 million RMB for customer care and support in the region.

Recently, China’s central Henan Province, especially Zhengzhou city area, was hit by the unprecedented heavy storm and floods resulting in serious disruptions and damage to the work and life of local businesses and residents.

“When disaster occurs at one spot, help comes from all quarters,” said Hideki Kimata, vice president of Nissan and president of Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd., “Our priority now is to ensure the wellbeing of all affected people and communities. 

“Through the donation, we hope to fulfill our corporate social responsibility while expressing our gratitude towards the community where we have a large presence and our determination to stand side by side with the people of Henan and adhering to our commitment ‘in China, for China’.”

He said by noon, July 23, DFL plants in Zhengzhou, China, are all back to full production after two days of suspension.

“We are continuing to extend full support to our employees, partners and local authorities in recovery efforts while closely monitoring the situation,” he added.
