Nissan Navara goes on sale in China, shakes up pickup segment High-end, SUV-like pickup enters its 133rd market, targeting both commercial and private customers

ZHENGZHOU, China (June 16, 2017) – Sales ofthe all-new Nissan Navara in China began today, setting a new standard fortop-end pickups by combining off-road performance with the refinement andcomfort of an SUV.

The China launch, celebrated with aceremony in Zhengzhou, makes the Navara a truly global model. It’s now on salein 133 markets around the world. The pickup debuted in China at the 2017Shanghai Motor Show and is manufactured for the market in partnership withZhengzhou Nissan.

The Navara targets not only commercialvehicle customers in China but also private owners with its SUV-like quality,design and performance. It combines safe, comfortable driving with low fuelconsumption and attractive styling.

“The Nissan Navara is a proven success in markets around the worldand now is poised to set a new standard for pickups in China,” said AshwaniGupta, senior vice president for Nissan’s light commercial vehicle business.“The Navara’s high-end features will guarantee a new, elevated drivingexperience – both for individual owners and commercial users alike.”

The Navara will come in eight variants,with 2WD or 4WD drivetrains and transmission grades including automatic andmanual – ensuring its level of comfort on the highway matches its off-roadperformance. It’s powered by Nissan’s tough, durable QR25 engine, with 135kilowatts of power and 251 newton meters of maximum torque.

The powerful exterior design includesNissan’s signature “V-motion” grille and LED headlamps – a first for thesegment. The roomy interior features automatic, constant-temperature airconditioning and a back-row air outlet.

The Navara will be priced from 139,800 yuanin China.
